The Bridge

Operating in the Greater Dandenong and Casey area for 50 years, The Bridge is a not-for-profit community service organisation, supporting adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Their programs include:

The Bridge Connects

Supporting participants to set and achieve their own goals through:

  • recreational & social activities – bowling, swimming, dancing, theatre, social interaction, confidence building, learning activities

  • Men’s Shed, fitness, cooking, life skills, art & craft

  • public transport use, neighbourhood house classes, and many others

The Bridge Employment

Focuses on preparing, training, mentoring and placing participants with disabilities in paid employment according to their individual abilities and goals.

The Bridge Works

A supported employment factory / warehouse in Dandenong employing people with disabilities for commercial contract work for paying clients, such as assembly, packaging, labeling, dispatch etc. Also offering employment opportunities to some new immigrants and refugees.

Getaways

Schedule and conduct a program of fun recreational day trips, social events and weekends away.

Your Supports

Organising one-on-one support workers to assist participants with their individual activities.

Their main volunteer roles sought across these programs include; Activity Assistants, Event Assistants, Employment Coaching Assistants, Administration Assistants, located at their service sites based in the Greater Dandenong and Casey area.
